The Somali Youth Connect (SYC) hosted a high-level Youth Debate this evening in Mogadishu, bringing together young leaders, civil society representatives, and government officials to discuss the pivotal role of youth in promoting peace and reconciliation across Somalia.
Held under the theme “The Role of Youth in Peacebuilding, Conflict Resolution, and Reconciliation — Politically and Socially,” the event provided a platform for vibrant discussions and constructive dialogue among participants. Speakers and panelists shared insights on how Somali youth can take proactive roles in fostering Peacebuilding, Conflict Resolution, and Reconciliation, and contributing to long-term stability.
Throughout the session, participants exchanged views on practical strategies for youth engagement in peace processes and conflict resolution initiatives at both local and national levels.
In his closing remarks, SYC leadership underscored the critical responsibility of young people in championing sustainable peace, urging them to remain at the forefront of efforts aimed at building a stable and reconciled Somalia
