Somali Youth Connect (SYC) to Host High-Level Youth Debate on Peacebuilding and Reconciliation

The Somali Youth Connect (SYC) is set to host a high-level Youth Debate in Mogadishu, bringing together young leaders, civil society actors, policymakers, and government officials for an in-depth discussion on the vital role of youth in advancing peace and reconciliation across Somalia.

The event, which will take place under the theme “The Role of Youth in Peacebuilding, Conflict Resolution, and Reconciliation — Politically and Socially,” aims to provide an inclusive platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and strategic engagement among participants.

During the debate, speakers and panelists will explore how Somali youth can play proactive roles in: Peacebuilding efforts, Conflict resolution at community and national levels, and Driving reconciliation initiatives essential for Somalia’s long-term stability.

The session will also highlight practical pathways for empowering young people to contribute effectively to peace processes, strengthen social cohesion, and promote collaborative approaches to addressing the country’s challenges.
