About

Somali Youth Connect (SYC) is a multi-sectoral umbrella that brings together youth leaders, professionals, organizations, clubs, unions, and other youth platforms. SYC is a dynamic platform dedicated to uniting, empowering, and fostering development while raising awareness among Somali youth. SYC contributes to youth empowerment by enhancing their knowledge, skills, and experiences, and by promoting collaboration across cultural, technological, entrepreneurial, and environmental initiatives. Through capacity-building programs, leadership development, mentorship, advocacy, innovative projects, and strategic partnerships, SYC provides young leaders with opportunities to develop their potential and actively contribute to building a better future. We believe in the power of youth to drive transformational change; by collaborating with diverse youth groups, we create spaces where aspiring leaders can showcase their talents, share experiences, and learn from one another. Our initiative empowers young people to engage in dialogue and contribute to resolving social and political issues.

Objectives

1. To unite youth organizations under one platform, fostering collaboration and collective action.
2. To strengthen the skills, knowledge, and leadership of youth and youth organizations through training, mentorship, and development programs.
3. To engage youth in peace dialogues, reconciliation and conflict resolution initiatives that foster sustainable peace.
4. To advocate for youth rights to access equal opportunities in employment, the economy, politics, and development agendas.
5. To nurture and support youth leadership civic engagement and decision-making at community and national levels.

What We Do

We equip young people with knowledge, skills, experiences and opportunities to develop themselves, their communities, and their country. Through capacity-building programs, leadership development, mentorship, advocacy, innovative programs and strategic partnerships, we provide young leaders with opportunities to develop their skills, explore their potential, and contribute to building a better future.
